Shooters Hill SE18

Back to brick cleaning

This Edwardian semi sits high on Shooters Hill exposed to south westerly winds. The red quoin features had suffered spalling (deterioration of brick surface) this is a common occurrence with red brick. The brick replacement was in the region of 150 bricks as always Mahon used matching imperial size bricks for the restoration.

The brick façade was then cleaned and finally pointed in ribbon style using natural lime mortars.
